The role

  • Fixed Term (Until 28 June 2027)
  • Full time 1.0 FTE available (Job Share arrangement negotiable for 2 x 0.5FTE)
  • Level C - $139,182 to $160,308 pa (plus Course Director Allowance and 17% superannuation)
  • Wagga Wagga

The position is responsible for leading course planning, curriculum development, quality assurance, accreditation activities, industry engagement, student advisory processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working collaboratively with academic and professional staff, the Course Director will help ensure these programs remain innovative, industry relevant, and aligned with Charles Sturt University's strategic priorities.

The successful applicant will:

  • Lead course design, review, accreditation, and quality assurance activities.
  • Foster collaboration across course and discipline teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in student learning and teaching outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry and professional bodies.
  • Oversee student advisory and support processes.
  • Monitor and report on course performance and quality indicators.
  • Contribute strategic advice regarding course quality, staffing, and resource requirements.

About you 

We encourage applications from academics who possess:

  • A Master's or Doctoral qualification relevant to Animal Science, Equine Science, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated leadership in course design, curriculum development, teaching and learning quality, and quality assurance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience leading collaborative teams and achieving excellent learning and teaching outcomes.
  • Knowledge of tertiary education governance, compliance, and academic processes.
  • Experience supporting students through course advice, feedback, and complex student matters.
