The role

  • Level 6 - $92,025 to $99,538 p.a. (plus 17% superannuation)
  • Wagga Wagga (on-site)

The Technical Officer, Cropping Research will manage and operate field equipment to support cropping and pasture field experiments. The role contributes to applied research and teaching programs in agronomy and mixed farming systems in collaboration with academic and industry partners. 

The role involves setting up and managing field experiments, collecting and maintaining high-quality research data, and working closely with researchers, students and industry partners across multidisciplinary projects. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on, outdoor work and thrives in a collaborative work environment.

About you

We’re looking for a practical, team‑focused professional with experience in field‑based agricultural research who can contribute to hands‑on cropping trials. You will have:

  • Qualification in agricultural science or equivalent hands-on farm based experience demonstrating agricultural knowledge
  • Strong skills operating machinery, GPS and data systems
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage priorities
  • A collaborative, safety-focused approach
