The role

  • Full Time - Fixed Term (Up to November 2026)
  • Fractional appointment negotiable to a minimum of 0.8FTE
  • Level C/D - $139,182 to $160,308 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
  • Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange or Wagga Wagga

You will be a key academic leader driving excellence in rural health education, research, and community engagement. You’ll lead a dynamic team focused on delivering high-quality training experiences for students and clinicians, while conducting impactful research that addresses real-world rural health challenges.

Community engagement and relationship management internally and externally is a key facet of the role. You will initiate and support ongoing stakeholder engagement to promote the objectives of the DRH, whilst also developing capacity for quality clinical training.

About you 

  • A doctoral qualification relevant to health or equivalent accreditation and standing .
  • A record of significant achievement relevant to rural health, at a regional and national level, in the scholarship of teaching and/or research/creative works or professional activity.
  • Comprehensive experience in, and knowledge of rural health and the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training Program
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and building people capability for high quality student centred learning and rural health research activity and outputs
  • Demonstrated capacity to work both collaboratively, independently and lead in a large complex academic setting with an outcome orientated focus.
