The Role

  • Fixed Term (until February 2022), Full Time
  • Level 6 - $79,051 to $85,546 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
  • Wagga Wagga

Play a key administrative role in supporting higher degree by research (HDR) students through their candidature lifecycle. Work collaboratively with faculty staff to support HDR students, while maintaining data and records and providing factual and authoritative policy and procedural advise in this dynamic and varied role.

This position would ideally suit an individual with a proven track record in providing high level customer service, with high attention to detail with the ability to manage competing demands in a multifaceted and changing organisational environment.

To be successful you will have:

  • A degree, normally with at least 2 years’ subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience
  • Well-developed organisational and administrative skills with ability to maintain meticulous accuracy and document management in a high volume work environment 
  • Demonstrated experience in providing assistance and advice in the interpretation and application of research policies, regulations and guidelines
  • A proven customer service focus with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills

Closer strategic partnerships are sought based on the internationally competitive nature and relevance of Charles Sturt research and the opportunity to provide Higher Degree by Research students with a more comprehensive training.

The Office of Research Services and Graduate Studies  is a key operational unit within the DVC (RE) portfolio. The critical role of the Office of Research Services and Graduate Studies is to provide an integrated suite of high standard research administration and support services. Effective leadership of the Office of Research Services and Graduate Studies is essential to ensure excellence in research higher degree candidature management, research grants and contracts administration, research finance and commercialisation, research information management and reporting, research compliance and research policy development. These activities are undertaken through active liaison with internal and external stakeholders and a strong communication program.
