Responding to the changing tertiary environment, the University is developing a ten-year strategic vision and has an exciting opportunity for a commercially orientated People & Culture leader to develop and execute on the people strategy that will underpin this strategic vision.
 
Reporting to and working closely with a commercial, people focused Chief Operating Officer, you will lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with a variety of senior stakeholders including the Vice Chancellor and senior executive teams to transform this business and enable the new strategy. Your key responsibilities will include:
 
  • Providing strategic advice to leaders on all people issues such as culture, capability, industrial/employee relations, change leadership, remuneration & performance management and strategic partnerships with third parties.
  • Reviewing and optimising the team structure and driving simplification and streamlining of processes with an eye for continuous improvement.
  • Leading, developing and implementing talent and capability programs that are future focused and will address future capability needs and shape culture.
  • Providing advice and guidance on complex IR/ER and lead the negotiation of the Enterprise Agreement.
  • Participating and/or leading university forums and committees.

To be successful:

As the successful candidate, you are an experienced and inspirational leader who has led and developed diverse People & Culture teams and built solid relationships across diverse client groups. You are an action-oriented, change agent and can demonstrate where you have successfully partnered with leaders and teams to influence and lead them through organisational wide transformation. Your background has been gained ideally from global organisations where you have operated within commercial environments with strong governance structures and strong stakeholder engagement.
